Our story
Before Schiff was Schiff
At 19, Eugene Schiff immigrated from Hungary to Detroit, Michigan with one goal in mind: to become a pharmacist. But instead of following the industry trend of selling synthetic vitamins at that time, his first own drug store opened in 1936 and focused on natural foods with special health features.
The founding of Schiff
In 1936, Eugene formed Schiff Bio-foods and was the first to create a whey protein supplement. So he began exploring compounds with foods naturally rich in vitamins and minerals, such as brown rice, brewer’s yeast, and wheat germ.
Innovators from the beginning
The discovery that rose hips offer a more concentrated source of Vitamin C than orange juice was one of Schiff Bio-foods’ major scientific breakthroughs. The company was the first to produce a naturally sourced multi-vitamin ever: Schiff’s V-Complete.
Carrying on quality today
